Privacy policy
Last updated: August 2026. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it and what choices you have.
1. Data controller
The controller for the data collected through this site is the operator of Dronn, reachable at the email address shown at the bottom of this page.
2. What data we collect
Dronn is designed to collect the bare minimum of data:
- Geolocation (optional) — if you use the "Check my area" button in the weather checklist, your browser asks permission to share your location. This location is only used to query the Open-Meteo weather service and show you the result: it is not stored on our servers or linked to a profile.
- Searched cities — if you search a city in the checklist, the text you type is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service to find its coordinates. We don't keep a history of searches.
- Standard technical data — like any website, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs technical access information (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and service operation.
Dronn doesn't require sign-up, has no user accounts, and doesn't collect contact data unless you write to us directly by email.
3. Cookies and third-party services
The site may use cookies and external services for the following purposes:
- Open-Meteo — provides the weather forecasts and city search used by the pre-flight checklist. Requests go directly from your browser to Open-Meteo.
- Vercel — hosts the site and may log technical data for security and performance.
- Google AdSense (when active) — we may show ads through Google AdSense, which uses its own cookies to personalize ads based on your interests. These cookies are only set if you consent via the banner shown on first visit.
4. Your cookie choices
On your first visit we ask whether you accept non-essential cookies (personalized ads). You can decline them: the site will keep working normally, but you may see less relevant ads or none at all. You can also block cookies directly from your browser settings at any time.
5. Your rights
If you're in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you the right to access your data, correct it, request its deletion, or object to its processing. Since Dronn doesn't store personal data on its own servers beyond technical hosting logs, most such requests concern the third-party services listed above: you can still write to us with any question.
6. Contact
For questions about this privacy policy or data processing, write to info.dronn@gmail.com.
